The River Region Chamber of Commerce is largely volunteer-based. Only a combination of the Chamber staff and committed membership volunteers will ensure the Chamber is successful in accomplishing its mission.

If you’re serious about getting involved with an organization that will have a tremendous impact on the future of the River Region, contact a chairperson today! To attend one of the Committee meetings, please see the schedule in the Chamber Calendar.

Public Policy

Chair: Henry Friloux, Echo Ventures

The Public Policy committee works to stay abreast of legislation and emerging issues that affect business. This group will interface and collaborate with the elected leadership of our member parishes on issues that improve or affect business.

Membership Excellence

Chair: Perry Waguespack, Preferred Home Mortgage

The Membership Team is responsible for new member recruitment, retention, and engagement; oversees the Ambassador group to attend ribbon cuttings and maintains efforts promoting member to member commerce.

The Ambassadors play a critical and influential role with the Chamber. These individuals serve as the Public relations arm of the Chamber. Ambassadors meet and greet new members, touch base with new members throughout the year, participate in ribbon cuttings and serve as regular volunteers at Chamber functions. These individuals are also known as the “face” of the Chamber.

Business Development

Chair: Rhonda Louque, BC Spa Works/BeautiControl

The Business Development Committee is focused on “value”. This committee will organize business seminars, networking events, and general membership meetings.

Education Committee

Chair: Chair Ronnie Slone, The Slone Group

The primary focus of this group is to monitor and support public, private and parochial schools in the River Region by providing a business perspective on educational initiatives; also, establish a partnership with post-secondary institutions to achieve common goals. Additionally, serve proactively in supporting legislation that benefits the entire system of schools.

River Region Professional Inclusion Council

The Professional Inclusion Council seeks to educate and to increase awareness of the benefits of an all inclusive environment for competitive business development.

October is “Diversity Awareness” month and the River Region Chamber Professional Inclusion Council delivered children’s books on diversity and inclusiveness to local libraries in St. James, St. John and St. Charles Parishes. The books were donated by the River Region Chamber, Entergy, Dow, Carter Law Group, LLC, Barnes & Noble, Borders, International Matex Tank Terminal and Subway. The books are displayed in each library in the children’s section in a “Diversity Corner”. The mission of the River Region Chamber Professional and Inclusion Council is to educate and to increase awareness of the benefits of an all inclusive environment in competitive business development.
