    fall enrollment increases for fletcher
credit hours per student at record high
SCHRIEVER, LA — Fletcher Technical Community College reports an enrollment increase of over 8% over last year at this time. Last fall, 2,122 students were enrolled, compared to 2,295 in 2019.
In fact, Fletcher is seeing increases in every category measured, such as the number of students enrolled full-time (up from 1,181 students last year to 1,372 this year), and the number of students taking online only courses (620 students, up from 345 students last year).
One of the most notable increases is in the number of student credit hours (the total number of credit hours enrolled.) Credit hours are up by over 2,100 (from 21,468 this time last year, to 24,125 now). That means Fletcher students are averaging a record-setting 10.5 credit hours each.
“Fletcher Technical Community College is excited to announce an increase in enrollment for the fall semester,” commented Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland. “This increase is reflective of our continued efforts to bring higher education to more individuals in our community. We are thrilled that so many have chosen to join the Fletcher family.”
In addition, Fletcher has responded to the request for more online course sections. There are currently 138 online course sections offered, compared to 101 last year. Registered credit hours for online courses are 9,643, compared to 6,671 last year.
Registration is now open for Mini-B sessions, which begin October 14. These are accelerated courses that cover the same material as the regular fall semester. Registration is also open for Spring 2020, which begins January 21. Visit http://www.fletcher.edu/apply/ to start the admission process.
